L-804 Elevated Runway Guard Light

Compliance with Standards FAA: L-804 AC 150/5345-46 (Current Edition). ETL Certifi ed. Meets the requirements of Low- Visibility Taxiway Lighting Systems as specifi ed by FAA AC 150/5340-30. ICAO: Annex 14, Vol. I, Section 5.3.22 Confi guration A, High Intensity CE: Complies with the requirements of the EMC Directive 2004/108/EC Uses * Runway Guard Light (RGL) * Runway Incursion Prevention The L-804 Runway Guard Light is an elevated unidirectional fl ashing yellow light fi xture that provides a distinctive warning to pilots that they are approaching a runway holding position and are about to enter an active runway. The RGL is also used in combination with L-852G (Inpavement Runway Guard Light), L-852S (In-pavement Stop Bar Light), and L-862S (Elevated Stop Bar Light) to provide additional safety under low-visibility conditions on the airfi eld. Features * Input: 6.6A Current-Driven/FAA Mode 1; 120 or 220- 240V AC Voltage-Driven/FAA Mode 2; 50/60Hz - Mode 1: Current-Driven-powered by series lighting circuit; lamp intensity varies with current supplied to the fi xture by the series circuit - Mode 2: Voltage-Driven-powered from either 120 or 220-240V AC parallel lighting circuit and equipped with photocell to control lamp intensity. Photocell energizes lamps at full intensity during high light levels and then reduces intensity to 30% during low ambient light conditions. * Lamps: FAA - Two, type PK30d, 100W/6.6A Quartz ICAO - Two, type PK30d, 150W/6.6A Quartz * Lamp Life: Rated at 1,000 hours at 6.6A * Flash Rate: Alternating fl ashes, 45-50 per minute * Adjustable Light Beam: 0° to 20° vertically; ±20° horizontally * Includes lamps, frangible column, and tether * The RGL can be aimed both vertically and horizontally and is typically installed in pairs, one on either side of the taxiway holding position Ordering Code 1,4 44A4744-XXXX Power 1 = Mode 1, Current-Driven (ETL Certifi ed) 6 2 = Mode 2, Voltage-Driven, 120V AC (ETL Certifi ed) 3 = Mode 2, Voltage-Driven, 220-240V AC (ETL Certifi ed) 4 = Direct Lamp Access, Current-Driven Remote Monitor Feature 1 = Non-monitored (ETL Certifi ed) 2 = Monitored (ETL Certifi ed) 5 Lens 1 = Traffi c Signal Yellow (ETL Certifi ed) 2 = Traffi c Signal Red 3 3 = ICAO Yellow 2 4 = Red/Green 3 Photocell Feature 1 = Without photocell, Mode 1 only (ETL Certifi ed) 2 = With photocell, Mode 2 only (ETL Certifi ed) Notes 1 Runway Guard Lights should only be powered with ferroresonant type CCRs and not with thyristor type CCRs 2 Complies with color and illumination of ICAO Annex 14, Vol. 1, 2nd edition specifi cations for Runway Guard Lights. ICAO L-804 uses 150W, 6.6A lamp. 3 Color not recognized by the FAA 4 1832RGL base plate is ordered and shipped separately. See catalog sheet 2012 for more details. 5 Not available in direct lamp access version. Monitoring, if needed, is provided by externally connected equipment. 6 The L-804 halogen, current powered, 50Hz, nonmonitored, ICAO yellow fi xture (Part No. 44A4744-1131) carries the CE Mark Operating Conditions Temperature: -40ºF to +131ºF (-40°C to +55ºC) Humidity: 0 to 100% Wind: Withstands wind velocities up to 300 mph (480 kph) Electrical Supply FAA Mode 1 - 115VA load (requires 100W isolation transformer) ICAO Mode 1 - 165VA load (requires a 150W or 200W isolation transformer)
